I just came across an MMO RPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game …… yes, it’s a mouthful) called Wakfu just last week and I think it’s a game worth highlighting.
I’ll leave you to the ABOUT WAKFU PAGE to explain what this game’s all about.
Here’s a video of the game while you’re at it.
Let’s cut to the chase and explore the user experience
The game requires you to download a game client from Wakfu: DOWNLOAD. Fear not as the game client is light and the download is fast if you have good broadband speed.
After that, all you have to do is complete the registration process. You start by getting a forum account (At least that’s why I experienced) then only the game account.
Basically the login name and the forum name cannot be the same but the in-game name can bet the same as the log in or forum name.
Ok that aside, once you get all those details done, you just need to log in and create your character. From what I experience, there’s no need to spend much time thinking about the name and settings of your new character.
You start off with a class-less character, once you complete all the test, you’re then presented with a range of Classes to choose.
Remember what I mentioned about “no need to spend much time thinking about name and settings?” Yup, you read that right. Just look at the image above. You still get to change the gender, name and colors when choosing a class! This is unlike the other RPGs I play (Eg Guild Wars 2, Ragnarok Online). I was like WTH!?!?!
Oh and if you wonder why I didn’t use the name ‘goldfries’ – well, the system just refuses to allow me to use that name due. The error message was “too many consecutive consonants”, like what?!?!? Weird. First time ever a game refused my name due to a combination of ‘consonants’.
