This special event was Canon way of celebrating their business achievement in the first quarter of 2010 that went beyond their expectation, it is also to introduce the upcoming Canon Concept Store to be opened at Solaris Mon’t Kiara, the store will be adjacent to the Celebrities Hall of Music.
26th May 2010 – I reached the venue early. 😀 Got the opportunity to walk around the less crowded red carpet!
This was part of the venue, beautifully styled for the event.
Here are some of the beautiful faces standing around the venue.
And also, Mr Liew! Caught you there!
And even……. Ning Baizura
Here’s Ning, watch as she greets Serena C
Simon Yam was there too! Ok well that’s not him, not yet at least. 😀 It’s the Canonfoto book dedicated to Simon Yam, showing his past 16 year relationship with Canon.
Believe it or not, I sat there for nearly 2 hours just waiting for the event to start. (They told me to come 6:30pm mahhhh…… aihh, sit there eat, drink, look at pretty girls walking around…….. normal stuff la.)

The arrival of the key people for this event – Simon Yam, Ning Baizura, Kenn Yam (not related to Simon) and Mr Liew from Canon.
This was followed by a short performance, with Adam Lambert’s song – “For Your Entertainment”.
The venue was long and narrow, so it’s damn difficult to get from one place to another due to the insane human traffic jam.
And after the performance, we have 2 key speeches from Mr Liew Sip Chon (President and CEO of Canon Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd) ……..
and Mr Kenn Yam (Director of C3 Entertainment Sdn Bhd).
Ning and Simon.
After their speeches came the official opening ceremony.
As usual, the photographer mob is more aggressive when there’s a celebrity around.
While the crowd proceeded to the Celebrities Hall of Music for Q&A session, I happen to met our abang Namewee in person!
Yo bro! What’s with the thumbs? 😛
On a side note, I thought the decor leading to the Celebrities Hall of Music was interesting.
It just puzzles me to see that EF-S 18-200 was the lens of choice for the decor. It’s not the best of the EF-S lens range. I thought a better choice would be something from their EF lens range, specifically from the L line-up.
Now, back to the event – here’s what went on at the Q&A session.
Simon Yam did a short rendition of Mary Had A Little Lamb there before proceeding to ……
end the event.
While the event has officially ended, the party isn’t over yet.
Live Performances were in store at the Celebrities Hall of Music, Ning Baizura was the first to take the stage, this was followed by others.
*btw those guys are part of the band.
Those who stayed on for a bit would’ve caught the IXUS Catwalk, featuring Jonathan Cheng’s collection
*Eh write this article also take so long already, 2GB videos in Full HD (Thanks to Canon’s EOS 550D) takes more than 24 hours to upload! Spare me the burden of having to think of an ultra-beautiful way to end the article ok? 😀
