Ahh as usual I’m not going to go long winded unless necessary.
Here’s Mr Liew Sip Chon giving introduction speech.
Here’s the video of it of the Canon big guys and Mr. Simon Yam, launching the new product.

And of course, the usual Q&A.
Ixus 300 HS with me? No la where got, I small small fella only………… BUT I did manage to play with it and I liked it.
What’s so nice about it?
It’s the first Canon Ixus with f/2.0 and from my tests, the bokeh turned out quite well actually. I saw the ISO goes up to 3200 but from the spec sheet, looks like ISO 6400 is available in in Low Light mode but picture size reduced to 2.5MP. The 300 HS also has burst mode with 3.7 shots/sec at 10MP or 8.4 shots/sec at 2.5MP, and also the 240fps Super Slow Motion Movie mode.
It feels like something that’s up against Panasonic’s LX3 (sorry to bring up competitor product) but at the same time it feels also like another choice between the PowerShot G11 and PowerShot S90. In fact if you look at the specs, it’s pretty much like the Powershot S90.
And I did get a hands on with the 3 colors of Ixus 300 HS and my favourite is the black one. 😀 Yup, the red and the white one has a glossy appearance but the black one has this rough texture that feels like the material used for SLR. 😀
