Never have I come across such a beautiful GTX 980 Ti. The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti XTREME GAMING is so packed with features it’s definitely the enthusiasts card to get!
Tri-fan cooling aside, the card is huge, heavy and comes with a nice looking backplate.
Towards the forward section of the card lies an additional 6-pin PCI-E power connector, to provide added overclocking potential by one-click BIOS switch button that makes the card perform in LN2 mode. (That’s for Liquid Nitrogen cooling)
Here’s the rear and bottom view of the card.
Lastly but not least, the beautiful part of this card is that it has RGB LED on the cooler so you’re able to customize it to suit the setup of your system.

Temperature
Furmark Burn-in Test was used to stress the card. Fan settings are at Auto. Room set to ~25c.
Card | Idle(°C) | Load (°C) |
Gigabyte 980 Ti XG | 33 | 70 |
Gigabyte 980 Ti XG (Full RPM) | 28 | 53 |
The fan hovers at around 53% on AUTO settings where the noise level is silent.
Power Consumption
The stress was done with Furmark Burn-in Test. Power consumption reading was taken from the watt-meter, actual power draw by the entire system from the wall point. I’m using an Cooler Master V850 with around 90% efficiency and the estimated system power draw (CPU, not including GPU) during Furmark test is 80w.
Card | Gigabyte 980 Ti XG |
Furmark Burn-in | 420 |
Estimated Actual System Draw | 378 |
Estimated Card Power Draw | 313 |
The Verdict
The Gigabyte 980 Ti Xtreme Gaming isn’t new and in fact is on the way to be phased out, I’ve seen market price as low as RM 2899 for this baby and it’s definitely a steal right now.
It’s got a beautiful backplate, awesome looking RGB LED cooling system that not only looks great but cools very well, it even comes with added power connection to enable even greater performance.
