The Titan X was announced today as the new performance king for Nvidia’s line-up of GeForce GPU. The Titan X micro-site claims that it is “up to 3X faster performance for GeForce GTX 10 Series when compared to the GTX 900 Series” but it’s not specific on which 900 series GPU is the reference.
Below is the specs comparison between the Titan X and the GTX 1080.
With that, I present to you my speculation on the possible performance of the Titan X. I’ve yet to publish my review of the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming but when I checked my benchmark results with my speculation for the GTX 1080, the result was very close.
Benchmarks
Based on my best calculated guess, the GTX 1080 should be around the performance 72% the performance of the Titan X. (This means that the Titan X could possibly be outperforming the GTX 1080 by around 40%!!!)

Numbers look confusing? Here’s a chart for easy reference.
Summary
If my speculation is correct, the Titan X would be the first card ever to be able to single-handedly (meaning not requiring Multi-GPU setup) handle 4K UHD gaming.
The card costs almost 2 units of GTX 1080, price in Malaysia is expected to be above RM 6,000 so that’s a huge amount of money to spend for a card that depreciates in value within a year or 2.
If my prediction is correct then the Titan X would be of better value than 2x GTX 1080 because
1. 2x GTX 1080 comes to almost RM 7,000
2. SLI setup doesn’t exactly give you 200% performance boost, it can vary from just 5% gain to even more than 100% gain but the mileage varies from game to game.
