A simple no nonsense USB WiFi adapter for RM 15. Yes, you read it right. RM 15. Is it good?
It so happens I have another TP-Link product with me, the TL-WN422G. The TL-WN422G has served me well, it’s the adapter I use on my work rig that connects to my WiFi router that’s some 2 rooms away.
In comparison, the TL-WN727N is no match to the TL-WN422G (It’s a model with high-gain, comes with an antenna. And if I’m not mistaken, costs about 4x more).
Both of them are placed on the same table (where I do my work) and despite being only 2 feet apart, the system using the TL-WN727N wavers around 1 bar and 2 bar indicator on the WiFi signal strength (Windows 8) while the TL-WN422G shows a constant 4 bar connectivity.
In fact the signal capture quality was so bad, I was facing LIMITED CONNECTIVITY issues when I plugged it to the back of my system. It was after I extended the connection with the USB provided cable and place the adapter on the table then I manage to get better signal strength and with Internet access enabled.

This is the cheapest of the cheap cheap cheapedest USB WiFi adapter ever – at only RM 15, and comes with a USB extension cable too! It’s so cheap, it’s sold out at most shops and I had to hunt high and low for it (was shopping at Digital Mall PJ).
Just keep in mind that if you want stronger signal strength over the distance and obstacles, do consider paying more for a better WiFi adapter.
