The Rapoo S500 is a simple headset that’s made for style, and made to work with practically any device available. How good is it?
I usually don’t highlight packaging but this one’s so beautifully packaged, it actually looks premium. You can see the available colors for the Rapoo S500.
As you can see the one with me is the white variant.
The packaging is very detailed this time around, in fact it makes it a little bit of a hassle to get the product out of the box.
Ahhhh so the product is finally free from the packaging and it’s a very simple number.
The earpiece is small, comfortable but small.
It also comes with and on / off switch at the sides, along with volume control.
The S500’s package also includes a USB cable for charging and wired audio connection.

User Experience
Pairing the S500 to bluetooth device was easy of course it took a while to figure out, or more like I ended up referring to the manual on how to go about that. 😛
Holding the power button for 5 seconds makes the Rapoo S500 visible to your device and pairing is completed without hiccup. USB connection is of course straight forward and requires no explanation.
The earpiece was comfortable, and I went about kitchen activities. I didn’t feel any form of discomfort through the session, the headband was small and comfortable. In fact it’s so small, there’s barely any pressure on the head.
The S500 isn’t a great performer and surely doesn’t meet the requirements of an audiophile but it should work fine for the average individual who isn’t picky when it comes to audio quality. The audio quality is best described as near flat, there’s little to no bass while while treble is just passable despite my best effort in audio frequency adjustment.
The Verdict
The Rapoo S500 Bluetooth Stereo Headset retails at RM 179, it’s just barely decent in the audio department but what it has is style (subjected to preference) and it works with mobile devices via bluetooth and works also with computers via USB cable.
It’s a good device ONLY if you’re not picky when it comes to audio quality.
