Dinner with Lenovo - Enhanced Experience 2.0, IdeaPad Tablet K1 and more!

Lenovo graciously invited me for a dinner at Umai-Ya restaurant in PJ, along with a few other bloggers – purpose was to share more about their latest and upcoming offerings.

Key points of the event
Enhanced Experience 2.0 for Windows 7, partnership with Microsoft.
– Highlights of the various Lenovo product range.
– Introducing the brand new IdeaPad Tablet K1.
– EExtraordinary 10-Seconds Hero Contest.

As part of Lenovo’s ongoing efforts to educate and highlight its Enhanced Experience 2.0 for Windows 7 technology, Lenovo organised the global EExtraordinary 10-Seconds Hero Contest on August 3 to find ‘DOers’ from 17 countries to share their good deeds that can just done in 10 seconds. The submission period for the contest is over, but the voting period will soon begin on September 14.

There will be a Malaysian finalist and his submission will soon be up on http://lenovo.promo.eprize.com/hero/ for public voting. We would like to encourage you to help a fellow Malaysian out and spread the word on his submission to garner more votes. If he wins by getting the most number of votes, he will get US$50,000 to donate to his charity of his choice to realise his good deeds.

Star of the Night

Dinner with Lenovo - Enhanced Experience 2.0, IdeaPad Tablet K1 and more!
*Mini review up ahead*

The Ideapad K1 comes with an application that allows ending running applications without having to enter the settings. Pre-installed full version of Document-To-Go is definitely a plus point.

It also comes with a rotational lock and a HOME button where holding it allows you to capture screen AND also acts as a sensor for up / down swipes for certain functions. The Ideapad K1 also comes with

The Ideapad K1 is on the curvy look, compared to other similar tables it could actually look bigger BUT the curves mades the K1 a winner when it comes to long-term usage as it hurts less.

On the down side, it lacks a scratch resistant screen and the battery only resides on the Keyboard dock. Another factor of concern to me is the Micro HDMI output.

Overall – it’s still a great Android based tablet, and not something competitor brands should overlook. 🙂
