WD Blue Slim (7mm) 1TB SATA Hard Drive Review

With the emergence of slim form factor mobile devices like the Ultrabook, even hard disks have shrunk in size, one as the WD Blue Slim.

I think there’s nothing much to describe about drives. To me, it’s just a matter of size, performance and price.

Speaking of size, here’s a comparison between the Slim, the WD Scorpio Blue 500GB taken from my old notebook (Acer Aspire Timeline 3810T) and a Compact Flash card.

Size aside, here’s the performance result from CrystalDiskMark software.

The Verdict

According to the official product page, the selling point is the size and the power consumption.

The Slim 1TB drive comes at RM399 and has a two-years warranty from WD. It’s a good product, though there’s a price to pay for something slim.
