External storage drives are all over the market but very few are able to provide the protection as the one found on Transcend’s StoreJet 25H3.
The StoreJet 25H3 is with Military-grade shock resistance based on U.S. military drop-test standards MIL-STD-810G 516.6, it also has an advanced 3-stage shock protection system, durable anti-shock rubber outer case and internal hard drive suspension system.

With that, the package of the StoreJet 25H3 is simple – the drive, the cable, the warranty card and the mini product catalog.
The drive is compact and solid, the rubber surface is part of the total protection package for the drive.
The cover is sealed from tip to tip, there’s no way for me to investigate without doing a massive teardown that compromises the integrity of the protection.
The 25H3 works with USB 3.0 connection however you’ll need a connector such as this one to get it to work. No external power required.

So what exactly is the Transcend StoreJet 25H3? It is a compact external storage that’s made to rough it out with you, reducing significantly the chance of compromised data due to mishandling.
That doesn’t mean you turn it into a toy, but feel free to use it as a self-defense weapon if situation arises.
Benchmarks
The StoreJet 25H3 is a hard drive, not a flash based storage system so the writing speed is limited but it’s still very fast. The model used in this review is the 3TB variant.

Backup Software
Hardware aside, Transcend provides the Transcend Elite Data Management software for managing backups. I love the software as it allows customization like how frequent to back-up data, what data to backup, where to put it and whether or not are you replacing it or making a new copy and so on. The Verdict
The Transcend StoreJet 25H3 3TB retails at RM 629.00 of which I think is an excellent price for an external drive of such caliber. You might be wondering – aren’t 3TB external drives priced at RM 400 – 500 range? Yes they are but the strength of the StoreJet 25H3 3TB’s unique selling point is the amount of protection given, that’s very little considering the protection you get against misfortune.
