Wireless headsets are great for mobility but the foldable ones help a lot when storage space becomes a luxury.
Lightweight and compact, the H3080 folds into a compact form that’s easy to store.
And speaking of storage, Rapoo added value to the package by including a storage case for the H3080.
The H3080’s full form is as below, with extendable earpiece. The speaker features COM-Ti membrane vibrating technology which delivers a clear and bright treble and a deep and mellow bass.
The earpieces are small and comes with non-fabric padding. What I like about the earpiece is that it swivels to accommodate your ear. In the photo below, the dial serves as not only volume adjustment but also an ON/OFF button. At the bottom of the earpiece is a MicroUSB port for charging purpose.
Here’s another view of the earpiece.
The headband comes with padding for added comfort while the folding hinge also acts as a pivot point for the earpiece to angle according to the contour of the listener’s head.
The package comes with a USB transmitter, a USB to MicroUSB cable for charging and a 3.5mm to MicroUSB connector for wired connect.
The H3080 comes with 4 color variations.

The Rapoo H3080 is light and compact, the earpieces are rather small so comfort depends on your preference on how you like the earpiece to be. I’m just glad it didn’t clamp on my head as if it was a torture machine.
The headset works with the USB transmitter without requiring any driver installation. While the instruction manual highlighted that one should choose the Playback Device, on my Windows 7 machine the playback device switched to the headset immediately upon recognition.
The H3080’s wireless capability only works when the playback device has the USB transmitter connected, this means mobile devices will only work with the 3.5mm audio cable to MicroUSB cable. On the plus side, the H3080 is able to playback from both wireless and wired connection simultaneously.
The volume control only works with the USB transmitter. For audio playbank using devices that connect via the 3.5mm audio jack, the volume is controlled on the playback device.
As for the audio output, it’s a small headset so it’s not surprising that the audio quality seems hollow by default. Software equalizer does help boost audio output quality to an acceptable, at least by my standards.
The Rapoo H3080 Wireless Foldable Headset retails at RM 149, not exactly a cheap option but it’s foldable, portable and comes with wireless and wired input option. It’s a good product but at that price point, it barely makes the cut to receive the badge below.
