MasterBox 5 by Cooler Master – Desktop Casing Review

I came across the MasterBox 5 by Cooler Master during Computex 2016, it wasn’t released yet back then but the simple nature of this beautiful casing caught my attention and I’ve been looking forward to mod it for the longest of time.

From the front the MasterBox 5 is as plain as can be, there’s really nothing to praise about it. The grilled front carries Cooler Master’s traditional grille design, not the type for those who like the clean look.

The front panels opens up easily, allowing you to attached up to 3 additional 120mm fans.

At the top side the front panel is placed at the angled edge at the top.

Further towards the back is the opening where it is possible to mount fan / radiator unit on it.

Here’s the view from the rear, again nothing special. No sign of cutout for water cooling tubes either.

As for the view from the bottom, you’ll see a vent and dust filter for the PSU air-intake and there are some mounting points towards the front of the base.
