Just spotted this cooler on Facebook a few days ago and voila, it arrived at my lab – what a great surprise, much thanks to the distributor. Just how well does this RM 259 ID-Cooling Frostflow+ 240 fare?
Now before we look at the benchmark, let’s look at the key feature of the Frostflow+ 240 which is the LED lit pump, the picture of the lit pump is at the end of the article.
Underneath the pump is the copper base with mounting points at the sides, 2 each to hold the mounting component in place.
The Frostflow+ 240 as the name suggests comes with a 240mm radiator unit with 27mm height.
2 units of 120mm fan are of ID-Cooling’s signature design, only this time with white blade and rim.
The tubes are 31.5cm in length, braided and looks great but that makes them a little tough to bend around.

User Experience and Benchmarks
Setting up the Frostflow+ 240 is easy peasy, I mounted it on my AM4 system no different than how I did last time with my Frostflow 120. Put it simple, it uses ID-Coolings tried and tested mounting system that locks the back plate to the motherboard and have screws to hold the unit in place.
Here’s how the Frostflow+ 240 fare when it comes to taming the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 @ 3.9Ghz with 1.375v on RealBench Stress Test. Out of curiosity I did 2 tests, one with the bundled paste and one with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. As you can see the Frostflow+ 240 is a cooler that’s plenty capable, just held back by the stock paste.
Once you get it moving the performance isn’t far off from a cooler that costs twice as much.
What else can I say? No doubt the S24 has better build quality, better performance and modular capability but what the Frostflow+ 240 offers is unbeatable value for money and and I must say that pump looks a lot better than the one on the S24.
The Verdict
Needless to say the ID-Cooling Frostflow+ 240 is an excellent product. Have I mentioned the price? I guess not, it’s retailing at RM 259 and it comes with 2-years warranty. 😀
