AeroCool’s Shark Fan – one of the few stylish looking case fan with colored LED that’s available in the market though I must say that the packaging looked like it was taken from a B-grade movie.
The Shark fan comes with a unique “Shark Fin” Fan Blade design – 15 of them, and the transparent fins are lit by quad Orange LEDs (LED color is different on other models).
The Shark fan uses fluid dynamic bearing to provide longer life span, higher precision rotation and anti-shock function. It comes with black cable sleeved and is able to run in 12v mode and 7v mode.
The package contains
– 1 x Voltage Reduction cable (12V to 7V) w/ Black Cable Sleeving
– 1 x 3 to 4 pin converter cable w/ Black Cable Sleeving
– 4 x Anti-vibration Screws
– 4 x Standard Screws
The fan looks great when lit, at full RPM it’s moderately loud but once the voltage is lowered the fan spins very silently.
Benchmarks
I tested the fan against DeepCool’s 140mm counter part on the Gamer Storm Lucifer heatsink. Both fans were used to cool an overclocked Intel Core i5-4670K processor that’s running at 4.3Ghz at 1.25vcore.
Fan | Load (°C) |
AeroCool Shark Fan 140mm | 66 |
AeroCool Shark Fan 140mm (low RPM | 70 |
DeepCool GF140 | 67 |
The Verdict
The AeroCool Shark Fan 140mm retails at RM 33, while teh 120mm variants at RM 28. The fan looks fierce, just as the packaging, and it cools very well too.
