The gaming scene is getting hot these days, especially with tournaments like The International going around. Acer spared no time in getting their hands into the game, and what they have here is a powerful gaming notebook made their landing on the gaming scene – A New Challenger Appears!
Right out of the box it comes with a non-glossy (not matte either) surface that’s of etched lines.
Embossed in the silver colored panel at the edge of the notebook is the name “Aspire V Nitro”.
A full-size chiclet keyboard awaits the user, the key caps are non-glossy and the build material is soft-touch in nature.
The notebook is powered by an Intel Core i7 Processor and nVidia GTX 860M GPU. More details on these later. I’m just describing the look and feel at this point.
The notebook is complete with tenkey, with power button on the upper right corner.
One neat thing about this unit is that the keyboard is backlit. On the downside, you can’t change colors nor can you adjust the brightness. Well, I suppose ON and OFF is sufficient.
There’s absolutely NO I/O ports on the left side.
On the right are a wealth of ports, including 3x USB 3.0, HDMI output, LAN port and audio port.
At the front there’s an SD Card slot.
Here’s the bottom view of the unit, nice large sized feet for sturdy placement and the speakers are placed near the front feet.
Here’s the ventilation system.
Notebook Details / Specifications
I’ll let the specs do the talking.
Intel Core i7 and nVidia Geforce GTX 860M – those are the 2 key elements that make it a gaming notebook. Below are more details of the CPU and GPU.
Hi Goldfries, liked your review but would also like to know what are the disadvantages that you think are deal breaking, like keyboard travel, heat noise?
