U Mobile Inks Pact with ZTE and Huawei

U Mobile aims to further strengthen its network for better customer experience by extending its on-going partnership with leading network solutions provider with ZTE Corporation and Huawei Technologies.


Through this partnership, the rollout of 1,000 3G and 1,000 4G LTE network sites worth up to RM1.5 billion of total investment will be the first of many new network initiatives in the coming years.

U Mobile aims to provide superior network capacity and coverage that is at least on par, if not better, with the rest of the leading industrial players by the end of 2015. Being a data-centric mobile service provider, U Mobile has demonstrated its innovation and product leadership through many consumer-centric mobile communication services. The telco’s Unlimited Mobile Internet (UMI) has always been the most affordable prepaid data package in
the market that offers the highest data allowance and longest validity period, enabling its subscribers to enjoy internet connectivity, voice calls and SMSes at less than RM1 a day.

In this partnership, both ZTE and Huawei are chosen to be the preferred partners to rollout U Mobile’s landmark network expansion due to their track record of being one of the leading global telecommunication solutions providers with extensive experience in the field and stateof-the-art technology and network solutions.

U Mobile officially inked the partnership in the presence of YB Dato’ Sri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Minister of Communication and Multimedia Malaysia, as well as Madam Ma Jia, Chargé d’affaires a.i. & Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia. This partnership also celebrates the four decades of diplomatic relationship between Malaysia and the People’s Republic of China, attesting to the strong ties between the two nations
