People commonly call the USB Drive or USB Flash Drive as a Pen Drive, you can’t blame them as Malaysian Mr Pua Khein-Seng is hailed as the “Father of Pen Drive” but I think we can leave that story for some other day. In this article we have Pendrive 128GB M.2 SSD – it is an M.2 SSD, not a “Pen Drive”. 😀
The product is as what you see, though you might want to consider removing the sticker should you be placing the drive under a heatsink, boards these days come with a M.2 heatsinks.
Note also that this is a 2280 sized M.2 SSD meaning it’s 8cm in length so make sure your board supports it.
The Benchmarks
The performance of the PenDrive 128GB M.2 SSD is great, I have no complaints as it does accomplish the Read Speed Up to 560MB/s and Write Speed Up to 465MB/s as claimed on the official product page.
The thing is PenDrive didn’t mention which software was the reading taken from and from the images above it looks like the software they use got similar readings as on Atto and CrystalDisk Mark.
The Verdict
The PenDrive 128GB M.2 SSD retails at RM 289 and comes with a 3-year warranty, the read and write speed is fast and the price is good.
