Whether it’s a cheap iPod or an expensive iPhone, a protection such as the Otterbox Symmetry helps a lot in keeping your device not just in pristine condition but it also keeps it from actual damage.
Now the Symmetry case from Otterbox is one of their more simpler production, I once own an Otterbox Defender now that one turned my HTC One M7 into a deadly projectile weapon, I called it the Ironman suit for my phone.
As for the Symmetry, I feel that it isn’t that bulky and provides sufficient protection. Note : Sufficient, not TOTAL. As you can see from the images above, the Symmetry does not come with a protection for the screen so if ever you drop your device, just hope that it doesn’t land face down on something ……… like say a pebble.
The phone sits neatly into the case, and doesn’t pop-out of it regardless of drop. You won’t believe how difficult it is to pry it open.
Being a reviewer it is my duty to execute with caution some form of torture test, with the possibility of sacrificing not only my precious device but also my time, money and energy should shit happen. 😛
Thankfully Otterbox products are of great quality and my device survived drop from various height, including one from table height that one slightly damaged my device. Needless to say that I shouldn’t be throwing it up in the air and let it land from a 12-feet drop. The Otterbox may save its appearance but there’s no guarantee the innards will be spared.
The Verdict
The Otterbox Symmetry Series Case retails at around 40 USD (around RM 160), you might think it’s expensive but consider how costly is your device and how such form of protection is able to spare you from having to buy a new one or having to bear the costly repair fee.
