Thermal Performance
Stunning!
It’s running on stock heatsink, temperature taken when ambient is about 25c. Impressive idle mode temperature a little below 40c while full load temperature is maintained at a healthy 60c – 70c range.
Conclusion
As usual, great processors they are.
They key thing to note is that while the i7-2600K has starts at 3.4ghz by default, the i7-3770S starts only at 3.1ghz though both share the same cache size. The selling point of the i7-3770S is the low power consumption of 65w while the i7-2600K starts is at 95w, this is due to the 22nm lithography in Intels 3rd generation Core series processor.
The processor retails at about RM 950 (~305 USD) – now it’s just a matter of whether you can find this processor on the Malaysian market, in which I observe mostly are the 3770K and the 3770.
Graphic performance you say? Well, that will be another article. 🙂
