It’s been a while since I used a Biostar product, my last Biostar motherboard was the TP35D2-A7 which is an awesome board. The one here however isn’t their top-of-the-line board, the H110MH serves as an entry level bare-basic motherboard.
Out of the box you’ll see how plain and simple a board this is, it’s not surprising though as H110 chipset boards aren’t aimed at enthusiasts and unnecessary components are stripped to keep the board affordable.
Take the upper corner for example, no huge I/O shield, no large heatsinks, and a single 4-pin CPU12V power connector.
The board is so compact that I could fit into the photo from end to end of what it is, as you can see there are 2 DIMM slots, the ATX power connector and 4 upward facing SATA ports. The fan connectors are placed towards the top end of the board that’s near the DIMM slot, no other fan connectors at the side.
In case you’re wondering where the USB 3.0 connector is, it’s at the bottom side along with the other connectors and again, no fan connector in sight. You can see by now how bare-basic is this unit.
From the rear, 2x PS/2 port, 2 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0, an RJ 45 LAN port, basic audio connectivity and lastly, a HDMI and a VGA output.
User Experience
There’s really nothing much to talk about, the board is as simple as it is and works as it should. One thing that got me quite impressed is the UEFI interface.
What got me a little excited is this one, unfortunately my Intel Core i5-6600K isn’t available at the time of this review but I’ll be updating my findings soon enough.
The Verdict
The Biostar H110MH Pro D4 Motherboard is a simple no-frills motherboard that retails at around RM 269 and it comes with 2-years warranty. It works just fine not only for office productivity computers but also as a low-end gaming machine to be paired with Core i3 processors and DDR4-2133 RAM. Make no mistake though, you will still be able to use high end processors like the Core i7.
