AudioBox BBX T1000 Bluetooth Portable Speaker Review

The AudioBox BBX T1000 – cheap and cheerful could be the way to describe it, just don’t put too high a hopes on audio output.

The AudioBox BBX T1000 looks like a kid’s water bottle or lunch box, from the box art it looks quite cool, as if it is RGB LED but for something that retails at RM 40 – you’d be expecting too much, the colors are just printed sticker and would likely fade from wear and tear.

The audio is lob-sided should the item be facing you, regardless of orientation as long as the speakers aren’t towards your direction.

On one side is the speaker and the control interface, simple and straightforward but poorly done as there’s no indicator on what they do.

The output on this side seems to be for bass.

On the other side of the unit is the treble output.

The feet of the AudioBox BBX T1000 are plastic, so don’t expect it to hold its footing well on surface.

User Experience

Connecting to the AudioBox BBX T1000 was easy, my Bluetooth device detects it and pairs without hiccup.

The output is dismal at best, the treble output is there but the quality is poor. Mids were non-existent and bass was more hollow than an empty bottle.

So what you have is a very loud speaker that produces bad audio quality.

The Verdict

The AudioBox BBX T1000 retails at just RM 40, perhaps a good choice if you intend it for usage with kids or environment that’s likely to destroy a product. 🙂

Basically if you just need something that doesn’t cost much, loud and in an environment that no one cares about audio quality then you might want to consider this.

Oh yeah and one last thing – it could work as a head rest, foot rest, or use it as a temporary support.
