How do you keep a mouse from being lonely? You give them a mouse pad, and that’s what ASUS did from the STRIX Claw mouse. 🙂 Of course, that’s not to say you can’t use it with any other mice in the market.
The STRIX Glide Control Gaming mouse pad is just 1 of the 2 available from ASUS. The Glide Control comes with rough textured surface for accuracy while the Glide Speed comes with fine texture for speedy movement.
Here’s a close-up of the texture.
That’s pretty much it, you’ll see similar details on the official product page. The mousepad measures at 400 x 300mm and is 3mm thick, weighing at 208g with rubberized under-surface for sturdy grip.
User Experience
The rough texture is certainly not my cup of tea but it works fine as it is. I’ve been using other fine-textured mouse pad as well, I see no difference when it comes to my accuracy and speed so I guess it all boils down to what you like to feel around your arm and palm.
The Glide Control was designed to suit all types of sensor, what I like most about this mouse pad is the embroidered edges that are comfortable to the skin, meaning it’s great for long-hour usage.
The Verdict
The ASUS STRIX Glide Control Gaming Mouse Pad retails at RM 99. There’s nothing to complain about it. The texture serves its purpose as a mouse pad, and the size is more than adequate for any user. It’ll be great if ASUS could produce smaller ones and retail at a lower price point.
