A for ASRock, A for affordable, and that’s just what the ASRock Z370 Extreme4 is.
As always we start from the upper corner, a huge but great looking plastic cover reaches from the I/O area down to the power phase heatsink, my only complaint would be that unsightly wire of which I hope and believe it’s just for this particular unit. I’ve never seen any ASRock I/O cover having a cable being visible as such, so I’m inclined to believe that this is an isolated case.
As for this corner, nothing fancy as always.
Going down to the other corner, it’s the usual now – ASRock had the POWER / RESET button removed, and along with it went the debug LED as well.
The ASRock Z370 Extreme4 is one that doesn’t miss out on the essentials such as dual PCI-E x16 slot that supports multi-GPU configurations such as Nvidia SLI and AMD CrossFireX, both slots are steel reinforced. The board also comes with 2x Ultra M.2 slots and not forgetting to mention that it has Purity Sound 4 that’s found on higher end models like the Taichi.

User Experience
This board is of great value for money, besides the external features the board comes with good set of options in the BIOS. With this you get to fine-tune your system and even overclock to your heart’s content. Of course lacking the debug LED and POWER / RESET button makes this activity less enticing.
The Verdict
The ASRock Z370 Extreme4 retails at RM 789, pretty neat for a board like this. I didn’t like the Z270 Extreme4 because it was priced quite high and it lacks the features that I love. As for this Z370 model I’m glad to see that the price is much lower and with that I am more forgiving towards it.
