An interesting mail appeared today, pretending to be Google sending an alert that an E-mail account is under attack.
The content seems legitimate but upon closer scrutiny, one could easily spot the flaw in the approach.
Firstly it’s the sender.
And secondly, it’s the link it goes to. All I did was just mouse over the button and it shows the link.
From what I gather, it’ll download a HTML file and what the average person would do is to run the HTML file.
With the HTML file loaded, it could run malicious content that may affect your computer.
So there you have it, stay sharp and stay safe. Just because the title and content looks legitimate doesn’t mean the E-mail is.
