Intel Malaysia launches the Core i5 today at Sime Darby Convention Centre.
I thought it’s just another launch, perhaps something like the i7 launch last year.
Quite a host of vendors showcasing their wares just outside the ballroom where the event is to take place.
And this is the said ballroom.
After a brief introduction of the event from the mecee, we were presented with this animated feature rendered using Intel’s Core i5 processor.
And here’s Simon Chan, Sales Manager of Intel Malaysia, out from the animation (yes, that was him in there) and out in reality to end his welcome address.
This was followed by a keynote speech by Intel Malaysia’s Country Manager, Ryaz Patel.
Here’s Ryaz with the 2 guys from Shock3D Sdn Bhd, who are they?
It was a glorious moment for Malaysia on the 24th of July 2009, when our local animators emerged as the winner of the international animation festival in Seoul, Korea. The Malaysian animated IP called “Alamaya: Garden of Beautiful Creatures†created by an MSC Malaysia Status Company, Shock3D! Sdn Bhd was awarded as the Best Planning – 8th Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival Promotion Plan Competition (SPP).
Malaysian Animation Shines in Korea
In this event, they’re featuring the upcoming animated movie (100% local creation!) – ALAMAYA.
And this is Eugene, da big boss man of Shock3D who happens to be a friend of mine for quite many years now, thought I’d give him some added publicity here. 😀
Shock3D and the guys from Intel doing a demo comparing the i7 rendering vs the Core 2 Quad. (No need to guess who’s the winner la.)
And here’s Ryaz toying with the poor guy, well he manage to get all the answers correct for the spot quiz and got a digital photo frame!
After that, a quick presentation from Roland Asia Pacific to show us how audio engineers (is that what you call them?) can beneficit from the Core i5 goodness.
The launch ended with a VERY short Q&A session and followed by some group photo session (which event doesn’t have that? LOL).
And here are the guys from Shock3D doing even more demo in one of the ballrooms. 🙂 It’s like a carnival attraction of some sort, take a photos with the green background and have your image super-imposed into Alamaya’s world.
My Thoughts
The Core i5 is a very nice processor indeed, I have been using this processor for a while now with some great motherboards. 😀
Some of you may have already heard about my “mutant processor” case. LOL. I won’t go into that but I certainly have tasted some of the power of the Core i5 and will be presenting the Core i5-750 review really soon.
wow..preety cool. have to collect duit raya, to buy the new processor. huhu.
Any artwork of what the guy did with the Intuos3? I’m sure it was interesting 🙂
Always wanted to know how do you get invited to these launchings?
@aman – either that or sell off old stuff. 😀
@Lenovo – intuos3………. 🙂 a Wacom product.
@Eng Seng – 😀 people recognize quality stuff.
