Subtle, sleek and sexy – that’s what I think of the Node 304 from Fractal Design. If I need 3 more words to describe it, I’ll say Compact, Cool and Classy. How’s that?
Now before we proceed to the pictures, let’s have a look at the details taken from the official product page.
The build quality is good with the grill at the top of the front panel and the side panel, there’s also another grill on the other side of the casing (next pic). Being a casing of such compact nature, one can’t ignore the importance of airflow.
On the other side of the casing are the IO ports and buttons. The logo Fractal Design is placed at a quiet corner of the beautiful brushed-metal surface of the front panel. Behind the front panel are 2x 92mm Silent Series R2 hydraulic bearing fans, mounting points are compatible with 80mm fans.
The 140mm Silent Series R2 hydraulic bearing fan is the center of attention at the rear, it is also the primary source of ventilation.
2x PCI-E slots for graphic card to be installed, I’m just happy that they provided screws to mount the PCI-E components. On the downside, I’m a little concerned of the choice of crews as I very much prefer to have thumbscrews.
As for the under side of the casing, the Node 304 has very short rubber padding as feet. It comes with a single piece of dust filter that’s placed towards the front, in position with the PSU area.
