There are 2.5″ drive bays at the back, speaking of which I’ll need to show you what’s behind the tray.
And so this is it, it has a huge cutout and it has cables neatly strapped in place. What Fractal Design could’ve improved on this one is to have the cables strapped BUT not obstructing the rubber grommets.
There’s ample area for cable management, here’s the area next to the PSU.
If you happen to run out of space, there’s always the drive cage area.
The Verdict
The Fractal Design R5 is a beautiful casing that comes with plenty of customization options, the Windowed variants retail at RM 459 while the non-windowed at RM 429.
There are many good casings in the market but I’ve not come by any that offers this amount of sound dampening material on internal surfaces so I’d say the Define R5 from Fractal Design takes top marks in this aspect.
