My visitors don't click Adsense much, therefore despite having decent traffic, I'm not getting that much via Adsense. :) I've known some blogs with lesser traffic but earn more via Adsense. 2. normally just by the content alone will do. if you're good, the reader will tell his / her friends who are interested in the same topic. :) 3. Metatags help in getting your site into search engine results. Advertising in forum is for awareness.
