Those 2 weeks, it was a gamble. I’m placed my reputation, traffic and income on the line there.

Surprisingly my year end traffic and pageviews were record breaking.

It takes more than two weeks to kill your traffic.
Maybe more and maybe less.

Perhaps you should try one month.
But don’t kill me if your traffic drops.

Anyway, back to your queries. I thought this portion of my article was enough to tell you that it was unplanned?

So instead of squeezing the life out of my tight schedule and putting my health at risk just to get a few posts up, I thought I might as well conduct an experiment on my site.

Sorry if it wasn’t. The experiment wasn’t something like “Oh I think I’m not going to post for the next 2 weeks and see how it goes.” It wasn’t like that.

It’s just a matter of turning a less ideal situation into something that everyone could study, ponder, discuss and learn from.

And yes, if I had gone a month without updated, it will be titled as what you mentioned.

a very interesting way to twist an absence of posts. hahaha.. kudos to you.

no insult to you, but were you planning this from the start? If you had gone one month without updating would you have changed the title to ‘1 month without new articles’?

@QJ – Yup, it’s always good to have a backup. Not posting any articles is just either for really really bad situation or in this case, an experiment.

@Deimos – Interesting site traffic site, however I’m using GA alone to avoid confusion. Don’t worry about not subscribing to RSS though.

2. Having some good articles would be helpful to your traffic as people would still pay a visit or few to your site for what’s already there.

Interesting idea! I agree that it takes more than a couple weeks for many sites. Results obviously vary, but from personal experience, it’d take more than a couple weeks for me to completely discredit a site. It certainly never hurts to have those backup entries ready, though, hehe.
