Please bear in mind that this guide was written with the average Joe in mind so don’t panic if you don’t know anything about computers
I will change the guide from time to time. Should you have any queries about the specification that I’ve presented,or any computer hardware ,you may contact me. Do you have a suggestion to improve the guide? Do you wish to discuss this guide with me? Feel free to do so as well.
Anyway, the specifications are listed below.

I’m using a similar setup for my HTPC, playing 720p / 1080p MKV files. It’s more than enough power for Internet related activities (eg E-mail, web browsing, Facebook games, and so on) and works great even for productivity purpose (eg dealing with spreadsheets or documents).

Core i3 is more than enough for photo / video / graphic editing – even for professional purpose.

Core i7 for faster processing, with 2x 2TB Hard disks for storage and backup.

Now firstly you have to identify your budget, that’s the most critical factor. After that, have a look at the specifications below and see which one comes closer to your budget bracket.
So let’s say your budget is about RM 2,500 – therefore you should look at the specifications based on the stated price estimation and range.
It could end up being something in between, or hey – use the Customizer!
Now you’ll have to determine what you need and what you don’t need. For example, these specifications cover EVERYTHING you need for gaming………..ok well, except a mousepad. No big deal on that. So let’s say you already have a monitor, so you can remove the monitor’s cost from the specification so an RM 3,000 would now be about RM 2,400 – whaddaya know!! It’s now within your budget! Ok, so your uncle gave you 2GB DDR2 667 that he won from a lucky draw – you can then subtract it further, so the price is now less than RM 2,200. If you want a better power supply? Just add to the cost.
Great!!! Now if you’re happy with that specification, you can now go about hunting for the components…….. but wait! What if you would like to maximize your budget? After all, you have RM 350 or so to spare.
How about getting a bigger hard disk for your video collection?
How about a better mouse? Or a sound card? The possibilities are endless, limited only by your budget.
I also had people claiming the site is not frequently updated. Apparently the people who complained about lacking updates happen to be people who are clueless about PC hardware pricing in the first place.
One must understand that in the PC world, the updates aren’t frequent. Even an update a month is enough. In fact there’s no FIXED price in the market in the first place as the pricing of an item is entirely up to the seller. The price stated in the PC Buying Guide and Customizer will be a little higher than the market average – better to over-budget than under-budget.
