I Got A Free Samsung SGH-L760 3G Mobile Phone!

samsungtecharptt01

A little more than a week ago I received an invitation to participate Samsung-Tech ARP Bloggers TT Program – w00t! Damn happy! I had been scouting around for a 3G phone with decent camera abilities for quite a while, this one could be it!

Eagerly I waited for THE day to come and yesterday WAS THE DAY! I made great effort (Ok la. Great effort because I had to wake up at 10am on a weekend, aihhh…..8) ) to be at Ikano Power Center on just around 11am on the event date, and there was the registration counter right outside Fasta Pasta which is the venue for the TT session.

*What is TT? No, it’s not an Audi car model. TT is a commonly used abbreviation for Teh Tarik. While Teh Tarik is a popular drink here in Malaysia especially when people get together, TT on the other hand does not refer to the drink itself BUT to the session where people get together.

Well, I’m not the only one there either. There were quite a number of bloggers hanging around there as well but I’m pretty shy, I’m not the type who just approach a group of people and go “Oh hi, I’m Brian from goldfries.com”. Well, that’s just me. I’m SHY, OK!?!?! Get over it! :P OK la well I’m not that shy la, I prefer to let conversation run naturally than just to approach people. ;)

Bloggers eagerly waiting for the registration to open.

Not long after 11am, the registration was open and I manage to be the first in queue. No grand prize la, too bad. Happy I checked out the goods provided by Samsung. :) Impressive, the phone itself along with the rest of the accessories. :) Look I even got cap!

samsungtecharptt01

Yay, It’s about time I got a new cap!

Being the first to register also meant I had more time to wander around and take a few shots of the activity around, here’s how the queue look like. Pretty long eh? Well, why mind the queue when you can get a phone worth ~RM 1.1k? Not a bad deal eh?

samsungtecharptt01

I’m getting a phone! I’m getting a phone!

Ok, so now that everyone got a phone – what do they do? TEST IT! Yeahhh…… this is one of the rare moments in person’s life where he / she get to see a bunch of people looking downwards (in a non-religious way la!).

samsungtecharptt01

The time where you see a group of people look downwards.

Here’s me looking at the phone! It’s pre-configured to Maxis. I’m a Celcom user. Well, doesn’t matter. It’s FREE!

samsungtecharptt01

Wah you think I can resist not testing out the phone meh? Look at the crowd la, I don’t test I look funny man!

After a while of “looking-down”, it’s time we “look-up” as Samsung’s representative, Lawrence, gave a talk on what this phone is capable of – I’ll sum it up in my own words, “A 3G phone that’s capable of blogging via ShoZu“. Ok, Simple as that, I could only enable my 3G on Monday so I can’t tell you guys how well it works yet.

Lawrence, Samsung’s representative in action. Adrian and his explanation on the contest and Danny, one of the curious participants.

Here we see the Samsung people giving us a demo of how the phone works. :)

After Lawrence’s session on explaining how the phone works and answering numerous bombardment of questions from the participants, it was time for Adrian from TechARP to brief us with on whatever else there is about this session.

Adrian giving us a lecture………well, sort of.

As if handing us the handset for free wasn’t enough, the organizers also treated all of us with a sumptuous lunch. I ordered mushroom soup, a pizza with a name that I could not remember and iced lemon tea. Here’s what my meal look like. Looks tasty huh? Well it was!

Ahh, the phone itself!

Thanks Samsung! For giving people like me a chance to review the phone! ;)

Dear Readers, You could click on the link below and participate in the survey but I suggest you participate the survey later as I’ll be posting more details of my experience in using the phone for the coming weeks so you’ll get to understand the phone better and give a more accurate survey.

*50 cash vouchers from the organizers are waiting for their rightful owners, you could be one of them! Make sure you take the survey through my link below, ok? Thank You!
