Petrol Price Hike Reveals Stupid People

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Yes, I left home today for an evening outing and traffic jam was everywhere. It’s like all of a sudden, petrol kiosks is THE HANGOUT place to be! Was Beyonce Knowles doing striptease or something? Nah, it can’t be at every kiosk. Was it some Ipod giveaways (yes, Malaysians are generally suckers for freebies.), no way – the only freebies they gave were services like wiping your car a little here and there.

Petrol Hike

What was it? It’s THE PETROL PRICE HIKE (awww, I just realized my title gave it away earlier. ho hum). And so the new spreads earlier today – BREAKING NEWS: Petrol will be RM2.70 a litre at midnight tonight.

Vandals blamed for Sabah blackout

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008
KOTA KINABALU: Vandals are being blamed for Sabah’s worst blackout since the commissioning of the east west power grid in November last year.

Suspected vandals are believed to have removed steel pieces of a 132kV transmission tower that led to its collapse, triggering a major power blackout Monday lasting nearly six hours from 6.41pm and affecting 300,000 consumers in most areas of the state.

My goodness. I’m not surprised that vandals are blamed. In fact I’m not surprised at the vandals being the culprit. :) It’s easy to blame the vandals but fact of the matter is THEY LACK SECURITY. WTH is this? 90% of the state or so depends on the power grid for their livelihood and where is the security?

IF vandals could get their piece of metal, where da heck is the security then? It’s not easy to remove metal pieces from a transmission tower, sufficient to make it collapse. These structures were made to hold heavy weight of cables mine you.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to estimate the amount of metal to be taken in order to reach such level of compromise.

From my opinion? It’s the usual blame game. If it was really vandals, then I’d say security is as fault. If it was just a cover-up, then it’s just plain negligence over maintenance. Nuff sed!

:D A nice video that expresses the thoughts of many Malaysians.

Yes, there will be those who despise this clip but from the people I come by so far, ALL have expressed that this is a great parody and I guess you should know what does that mean. :)

Have fun, vote wisely – time for a change!

On a lighter note, here’s one from the Vengaboys. :)
