I was quite surprised to see a Black / Gold themed card instead of the usual Black / Red theme, the GTX 750 from Asus is an overclocked variant and it comes with a dust-proof heatsink that supposedly increase lifespan by 25%.
The official name of the heatsink is “Phoenix”, that’s from the ‘PH’ in the model number GTX750-PHOC-1GD5.
Here’s the side view of the heatsink.
It’s good to see that VGA port is included, I remember one of my HD 5450 card (3 generations back) didn’t even have a VGA port.
The GTX 750 is small and would fit very well into practically every setup. Here’s what it looks like, sandwiched between the lowly R7 250 and the once mightly HD 7950 Direct CU II Top.
Full details at the Offical Product Page
The card comes pre-overclocked. Here’s the GPU-Z detail of the card.

Asus GTX 750 | 31 | 54 |
Sapphire R7 260X OC | 34 | 78 |
Sapphire HD 7790 OC | 36 | 61 |
The GTX 750 is impressive in power consumption and heat generated.
53°C reading was taken at 100% fan RPM. On auto mode, the fan runs at approximately 40% and the reading was 64°C.
Mining
I won’t be doing MINING test for all graphic card reviews but since I reported the Hashrate cost-efficiency in one of my recent article, I thought I’d take the GTX 750 for a spin.
Just as I thought, the hashrate is quite close to what was reported and could definitely be fine tuned further. What amazes me about the GTX 750 is that despite mining at full capacity, it’s only operating at 64c range and that’s not even running at full RPM!
Verdict
The Asus card retails at RM 519 and it’s definitely a card to consider, especially if you have the budget.
With a little effort put into some research, it could get you some side incoming without hurting your electricity bill and making your room a sauna. 😀
