Looking for an affordable gaming mouse? The G9X might be the one for you.

The packaging is simple, though I have no idea why they packaged the box with such awkward corners. 🙂 It’s quite difficult to put the plastic enclosure into the box without fear of damaging it.

The ergonomics of the mouse is pretty good, my palm is able to rest comfortably and my fingers could reach all the buttons with ease.

What I find a bit lacking is the overall build quality, it’s not as solid as many gaming mice out there but you’ll get to know why in a bit.

Here’s what it looks like in the dark….

The package also comes with weights, and the weight compartment is at the back of the mouse. It’s easy to access but I very much prefer that the area be under the mouse than on top as the gives it a hollow feel.

Here’s the under-part of the mouse, of which I only photographed after a few gaming sessions so pardon me for the accumulated dust.

What’s great about this package is that Armaggeddon also included an extra set of Teflon feet for the mouse.

Details taken from the official product page.

The Alien IV G9X is feature-rich indeed but I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight that the mouse does not come with 4 colored LED but rather the mouse is available in 4 color options. If you bought a green LED one, you’re stuck with that color.

The Verdict

The mouse retails at RM 139 which I think the overall build quality is justified, furthermore it comes with many customizations, weight adjustment and even an extra set of Teflon mouse feet.

What more could you ask for at such a price?

  1. Bought Armaggeddon keyboard and headset previously. Biggest mistake of my life. both spoiled within 2 months. headset broke into 2 for no reason while watching movie and keyboard key just stop registering my key press. Better pay slightly more for better quality like logitech or cm storm.
