A better processor is always and advantage. However if you want games to run nicely, the emphasis should be on the GPU first, processor next.

Of course it’s always best to get the best processor you can to pair with the GPU.

A decent power supply would be good, not so much for your GPU to work well but rather for stable power for all your components.

Hey dude,
i going to buy a pc with AMD Athlon X2 4800+ with 2 gb ram and plan to stress more on my gpu. Wanted to buy ATI HD3870 512mb. Do you think faster GPu need faster CPU too?? if yes than i would consider in purchasing higher CPU. I read your buying guide too.. And see that you dont stress on your CPU speed too..And by the way should i buy 3rd party power supply to be able the GPU works well?
