Canon PhotoMarathon (Malaysia) 2009

Remember how I said I was busy in my recent Site Update post? I wasn’t kidding. My plan to participate Canon PhotoMarathon 2009 was pretty much screwed when client couldn’t get things in place on time. 
Well, it’s a good thing for me in a way – I needed the rest, nevertheless I still made my way to the PhotoMarathon at around noon. 
Big thanks to the organizers to allow me entry to taste a bit of the experience.
I took the long walk down the Elephant Walk, just like everyone else.
And down further, reaching the point where I met a friend of mine who so happened to turn out to be one of the Winner for the competition. 
It was a hot day, by the time I got there I think half the participants already having a break and mingling around. I’m sure many of them got “poisoned”.
Some were still walking around. Notice how harsh was the hot weather?
Others were fooling around, having a good time……….. yeah, taking photos right there with the babes in bikini!

As with one of the themes – “Shooting In Progress”, I must say that there’s really a lot of shooting in progress in my short sub-2-hour visit.

Was It Good?
I don’t know. I’ve had mixed feedback from participants so far.
Some left early. Some stayed till the end. Some had fun. Some were disappointed.
As for me, I think the food and drinks there should be subsidized. 
Other than that, I think the best part of such outing is actually meeting friends and have a good time – whether or not you win anything.

yeah the bad part is the food and drinks, I agree should subsidized. It’s sooo expensive! RM5 for a can drink and RM10 for food? and the upload system should be tested to make sure it can handle so many participants too.

the event was okay but the F&B were hopeless, and i agree with everything saimatkong just mentioned..

Yeah, I was walking down the path wearing LYN T-shirt and someone called me – I couldn’t recognize him on the spot.
good job for saimatkong, last we met at DiGi dinner he was asking me some stuff as he was still trying out DSLR shooting. 
now can win the 55-250 IS already – damn nice lens btw, I’ve used it before. value for $$$.
Back to the food & drinks – see la, I go 1 hr+ only also I say it should be subsidized. Cos I didn’t bring drink also, some more earlier already go do location shoot.
Come to the place – I see a lot of water but cannot drink wan.
Ask the kakak canned drinks how much, was told it’s RM 3. WTH?!?! I know I sounded cheap la but since I can stand the thirst I might as well save up the $$$.

damm!
I thought can bring my Canon 7 and 50mm F/0.95 for a the run, they only accept digital hahhhaah…
